Crosshue Boy made up for a narrow defeat at Navan recently, as he claimed the Micheal O'Murchadha Memorial Rated Hurdle.
The seven-year-old gelding looked set for victory over fences at the Co Meath venue, before he was reeled in close home, going down by a length and a half.
Back over flights today he was sent off a 7/1 chance for Wexford men Harley Dunne and Sean Doyle.
Settled towards rear for much of the contest he took closer order from four out. He came with his challenge on the outer approaching the second last and had a good battle with Camlann from there, getting on top in the closing stages, going on to score by a length and three parts.
Camlann, who was sent off the 15/8 favourite, had to settle for second under Brian Hayes for John Hanlon, while Go Forty Go was twelve lengths back in third at 33/1.
Winning owner Niall Heffernan said afterwards: "He ran in a chase at Navan the last day when he was second, and we'll keep him a novice over fences for next season. Chasing is his game and a bit of nicer ground would suit him as well."
