Moonovercloon (11/2) completed a cross-card double for Matthew Smith, as he claimed the last at Kilbeggan, the kilbegganraces.com Pro/Am INH Flat Race.
Earlier successful with Blackcastle Storm at Down Royal, the Smith brace came in at just over 83/1, with Moonovercloon ridden to victory by his son James.
In a share of the lead for much of this two-mile three furlong contest, the winning son of Sea Moon held a definite advantage with over two furlongs to race and he kept up the gallop all the way to the line, coming home two-and-a-half lengths to the good.
Gearoid Brouder was responsible for runner-up Court Cian with this one running a fine race at the odds of 50/1, with the Gordon Elliott trained Nottodaybobo (13/2) another three-parts of a length back in third. Grivei (7/2) and No Bodder could only manage fifth and ninth respectively. The latter was the subject of a gamble and was returned the 9/4 favourite from early shows of 20/1.
"That's great, I'm delighted to get it. He's a good horse and was unlucky the last day up the north so I'm delighted to get his head in front," the winning rider said.
"I wanted to be up there handy, I didn't necessarily want to make it but he kept at it well and had plenty in hand.
"He was very unlucky the last day to bump into one but at least he got his head in front there.
"I had my first winner about a month ago and hopefully I can get a few outside rides now."
STEWARDS REPORT
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined No Bodder, trained by Anthony Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
