Jim Bolger's Comhra relished the testing ground in Roscommon to readily get off the mark in the opening Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden over an extended seven furlongs.
The going in Roscommon was good to yielding this morning but had deteriorated to soft to heavy by post time.
The 4/5 favourite soon raced prominently under Kevin Manning and had Static Charge for company at the halfway stage.
She was asked for her effort a mile and a half out and began to assert her authority at the furlong marker.
The Vocalised filly drew clear in the final furlong and ran on well to win by a more than comfortable six and a half lengths. McCauley's Tavern was a 40/1 shot this morning but was backed down to 14/1 and took second. He was a head in front of Apache Outlaw (9/1).
“Kevin said it was very straightforward and she did it easy,” said travelling head lad Ger Flynn.
“She had the experience of the run up the Curragh and he said he wasn't going to get caught (in behind) as it was a very big field.
“It was a very good prize as there is a 10 grand bonus as well.
“She did it very easily and put six lengths between them in the space of two strides. The ground didn't inconvenience her and the trip was a big help.
“She was second to, what is probably, a smart filly the last day (Matilda Picotte) and she did everything right today.”
