Aidan O'Brien raised the possibility of an exciting clash between unbeaten Royal Ascot winner September and Clemmie after the later opened her account in impressive fashion in the Grangecon Stud Stakes at the Curragh.

Clemmie, a full-sister to dual Guineas winner Churchill, was seventh in the Albany Stakes on her second career outing at Royal Ascot having been a promising third on her debut in a maiden here.

Ryan Moore tracked stable-mate Butterscotch in today's Group 3 contest over the straight six before asking her to stretch going to the furlong pole.

The 6/4 favourite swept to the lead inside the final furlong, going away in the closing stages to record a comprehensive two-and-three-quarter length success.

“She's lovely. We're going to give her a little bit of time now and then maybe step up to the seven in the Debutante,” said O'Brien.

“You'd be delighted with that. She's coming together lovely, slowly slowly. You'd imagine being by Galileo she'll step up to seven and she'll probably even get a mile.

“It was lovely bit of ground for her and the race worked out lovely.

“It's five or six weeks to the Debutante (August 20th), which is a Group 2 fillies race. That's what we'll have a look at with her and we're looking at the same race for September.”

When asked if the two could clash O'Brien answered:- “They have to learn and we'll all learn together!”

Boylesports cut Clemmie from 16/1 into 10/1 for next year's 1,000 Guineas.
