Impressive maiden winner Mister Carter is given a chance to prove his worth in Pattern company in Sunday's PW McGrath Memorial Ballysax Stakes at Leopardstown.

Tommy Stack's three-year-old put his rivals to the sword in some style on last month's racecourse introduction - from which the form looks solid as the fifth home has since won.

Fozzy Stack, the trainer's son and assistant, said: "It's a step up in class for him but he seemed well since he ran and we'll let him take his chance.

"He's obviously won over course and distance and did it well and we didn't have that many options where we could go.

"He's a horse we've always liked and he'd been working OK before his debut, but that is usually a hot maiden so it was nice to see him go and do it.

"The ground will be fine for him on Sunday and we'll know more about him afterwards."

Aidan O'Brien is represented by Mikhail Glinka and At First Sight, with the former the choice of stable jockey Johnny Murtagh

Speaking on his website www.aidanobrien.ie, the trainer said: "Mikhail Glinka is a horse that we like a lot, he worked well at the Curragh back in March and has been in good form since.

"We hope that he runs a good race on Sunday but he should improve for the run. At First Sight is a nice colt who won his maiden easily at Gowran in the middle of last season.

"He had a few minor hold-ups after that and we ran out of time with him last year but he is ready to run again and we hope he runs a nice race."

Eight runners are set to go to post for the Group Three contest with Dundalk maiden winner Address Unknown an interesting contender for Dermot Weld.
