Jim Bolger continued on from a memorable 1-2 in yesterday’s Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh by sending out She’s Trouble to land the opening Tally Ho Stud Irish EBF Fillies Maiden.
The daughter of Fracas made a promising debut when keeping on into third at Navan last weekend and showed the benefit of that experience by scoring here in testing conditions.
The 4/1 chance was prominent throughout and kept on well under pressure inside the final furlong.
She had half a length to spare over Dissociate at the line, with another newcomer Agartha a further length and a quarter back in third.
Bolger was represented by his daughter Una Manning who said, “I’m delighted with that and it’s a lovely winner for Joe and Marguerite Joyce. She’s by Joe’s own sire Fracas and is a sister to Smash Williams.
“Kevin said she handled the ground well today and the plan now would be to try and get some black type.”
Bolger's two classic stars are reported in good form today. “Mac Swiney and Poetic Flare both pulled out very well this morning, nice and fresh and all seems to be good with them.
“Hopefully it will be all roads leading to Epsom for Mac Swiney. I don’t think the boss has made up his mind yet about what route Poetic Flare will go.”
