Second-reserve Asisaid got a run in the ITBA Next Generation Handicap at Leopardstown and showed good fortitude to win by a neck.

Pat Murphy 's charge attracted support from 50/1 this morning down to an SP of 20/1 and was resolute under Gavin Ryan at the business.

The front four ultimately drew clear of the reminder on this heavy ground and it was Asisaid who found most to beat Patrick Street (12/1). Barnhill Rose ran a decent race for third at 6/1 and was a length and three parts in front of Rock Etoile

Murphy said: "“We're delighted with that. We thought a bit of him last year, he was working well at home and ran a fairly good race at Gowran. He seems to have matured a bit now.

“He was a bit backward physically and mentally. We're delighted with that, we knew he'd do a job but we just didn't think he do it as quickly. He came to hand very quick this year.

“Gavin gave him a great ride, up with the pace and he seemed to enjoy it. He was gutsy and hopefully we can have a bit of fun with him during the summer.

“He got a little bit sore on us last year and I think the cut in the ground helps him.”
