Dancing City took a step up in class in his stride in the Grade 3 Finlay Ford At Naas Novice Chase.

The 8/11 favourite made all with Bioluminescence his closest challenger throughout this extended three-mile trip.

A good jump two out by the leader had his rivals off the bridle but Bioluminescence, to her credit, was less than a length in arrears at the last.

She briefly looked a danger on the long run-in, however, readily increased the advantage in the final 150 yards to win by a comfortable three and a-half lengths from the 7/2 runner-up.

Willie Mullins said: “Paul said he’s so settled, he’s exactly what you’d want for a three-mile chaser. He gallops and jumps, and only does what he’s asked to do.

“I was very pleased with the performance in what is very, very testing ground.

“He looks like one for the Brown Advisory.”

This gave Mullins and Townend a Grade 3 double following on from Anzadam s easy success in the Limestone Lad Hurdle, and three winners on the card courtesy of Charlus who initiated the winning run in race two.

Paddy Power shortened Dancing City from 6/1 to 4/1 for the Brown Advisory.
