A winner at Musselburgh in August 2019 when under Mark Johnston’s guidance, Too Hard To Hold today opened his Irish account in the Follow Fairyhouse On Social Media Handicap (Div II).
Still in the ownership of Mayo native, Garrett Freyne, the Camacho gelding was here making it sixth time lucky since joining Dunboyne handler Jack Davison.
He tracked the leaders and was second at the halfway stage.
Travelling well early in the straight, Too Hard To Hold was pushed along to lead a furlong and a half out.
Ridden and keeping on inside the final furlong, the Davison runner held on by a neck from Sestriere
“He was a nice horse to get, plenty of speed, but it was just a matter of getting him to do things properly as he was a bit free in his early days,” said Davison.
“It took us a while to settle him down and for him to go through a race properly. You'll see today that he did things right and got the result.
“Hopefully he can kick on from this and maybe win another little race.”
N.M. Crosse, rider of Iseebreeze trained by Anthony McCann, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left.
