Blood Crazed Tiger ran out a comfortable winner of the Kepak INH Flat Race, scoring under Jamie Codd for Gordon Elliott and Gigginstown House Stud.

Previously trained by Pat Doyle, the five-year-old son of King's Theatre (also the sire of earlier winner Queen Alphabet was second on his debut for Elliott at Naas last November.

He was then fifth in a good quality contest at Fairyhouse in November, before going down by half a length to A Genie In Abottle at Naas in February.

Sent off an 11/4 joint-favourite today, he was settled in mid-division and was seventh with a circuit to race.

He made good progress into third two furlongs out, and was ridden to the front with over a furlong to go, keeping on well from there to score by five lengths. Lakeside Castle (10's in early shows and from 9/2 to 7/2 on-course) finished second under Kevin Power for Michelle Gannon, while Crosshue Boy (11/2) was a further five lengths back in third under Declan Queally for Sean Thomas Doyle. Merry Night was the other joint-favourite and he finished fourth under Patrick Mullins for his father Willie.

Gordon Elliott said afterwards: "He's very keen at home and, if he learns to settle, he could be a nice horse next year.

"He'll go out now and is a nice horse to go jumping next season. He wouldn't want the ground any quicker than that."
