The Fahey brothers are having a terrific run with their horses and it was Seamus who joined the Galway party when The Informer stayed on best in the opening Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle.

Paul Fahey's Oakly won the Guinness Novice Hurdle while Peter Fahey enjoyed two winners at the festival with Serefeli and Dayna Moss.

The Informer crept into this race under Eoin O'Connell and pair arrived in third at the final hurdle.

There was only one winner on the run-in as they powered home by four and three quarter lengths at 14/1.

The places were occupied by Newstart (7/1), Coherent at 25/1 and Lisa's Legacy (12/1).

Eoin O'Connell said: "It means a lot - a good place to have a winner and I enjoyed the buzz coming up the hill.

"He went through it very well, it is nice and soft now and they are getting a good dig into it. He travelled well into the race and enjoyed it.

"In fairness Seamus told me to light him up there and he'd win!"

Seamus Fahey added: "I don't know what happened him the last day, and we weren't worried about the ground or the trip today. I told the owner to have a few quid on this morning.

"He's in a chase and a hurdle at Sligo but it depends on how he comes out of this."
