The 10/11 favourite Sin a Bhfuil ran out an easy winner of the concluding Bar One Racing 'Getting Out Stakes' Flat Race.

The wily Patrick Mullins had decided that the inside was the place to be and went the shortest way around, edging left onto the Flat course at times before bringing his mount back in good time to race inside the wings of the hurdles.

He sent the Frozen Power gelding to the front over a furlong out and his mount quickly settled matters, coming home nine lengths clear of Don’t Tell Grandad (3/1).

The winner, tongue-tied for the first time, had been placed three times in bumpers last year and was running for the first time in almost seven months.

It was a second bumper winner in three days for owner/breeders Peter and Sandra McCarthy after the Peter Fahey-trained Sherodan scored at Tipperary on Thursday.

Peter McCarthy commented: "He had solid form. He had a little bit of a wind issue which we got sorted out during the summer and we gave him a bit of time off.

"Emmet (Mullins) has done a fabulous job to get him back. He has been working brilliantly in the last couple of weeks.

"We will look forward now to Galway for maybe a winners' bumper.

"We always thought a lot of this horse but he was cutting out in the latter stages of his races. We couldn't really get to the bottom of it and we sent him to Troytown. It was only a very small thing but it was affecting him. He is a lovely individual. He is a lovely work horse at home.

"Patrick (Mullins) is a great man at finding the best ground. He said the inside flat track wasn't watered, and he was going to go in as much as he could and out in between the wings. He is different class in fairness to him.

"Sandra and myself have a stud farm down beside Gowran Park racecourse. We bred this horse and he is a half brother to Charbel and Ajero.

"We will probably send him hurdling eventually. I think he is probably a horse for better ground, I don't think he is a winter horse."
