He may have been bred by Grange Stud in Fermoy, the starting-point for many a top National Hunt horse, but Show Court has more good days ahead of him on the level judging by his success in the Pet Stop And Fuel Centre Carraroe Race at Sligo.
Of course he was obviously expected to do the business, as odds of 2/5 show, but the Dermot Weld-trained Vinnie Roe gelding impressed when quickly putting the race to bed at the two furlong pole, going on to see off Traveller's Tales by six lengths.
Kris Weld owns the now dual victor and he said: "He's been consistent and he had a very good run at the Curragh (3rd there behind Paddy The Celeb on Guineas weekend). On his overall form and his run the last day he was entitled to win.
"We have no immediate plans."
Winning rider Pat Smullen, heading for Royal Ascot tomorrow, explained: "He was on his head as they went a good gallop. When I got him on an even keen I sent him on. He was entitled to win at the ratings." (TW & EM)
