Russell steers Ben to Kilbeggan win
Davy Russell, runner-up in each of the last five Jump Jockey Championships, got off the mark on for the new season when partnering Lord Ben to win the Cornaher Handicap Hurdle at Kilbeggan this evening.
Russell moved the son of Beneficial to the front at the third last flight, eventually staying on well for a comfortable win.
Winning trainer Henry De Bromhead was not present for the win.
