Ridge pleases Sligo punters
Solent Ridge was punted from 3/1 this morning into 11/8 for the Racecourse Signage Handicap and he didn't let his supporters down with an easy five length success under the welter-burden of ten stone two in the Racecourse Signage Handicap.
The Namid gelding was always going well under Emmet McNamara, he led entering the straight and he was soon clear on the way to disposing of Slapper
Winning trainer Ger Lyons said of the Chris Dineen-owned (he wasn't in attendance – working) victor: "He has done well to win two in a week and I just hope the handicapper doesn't hit him too much now and that he realises what he is beating.
"It is a pity that he can't run again quickly under a mandatory penalty as the new system doesn't allow it. Now horses like that go to the bottom of the ballot."
