There was a notable winner for Donie McInerney in the sixth race at Cork, as his victory on Nibblers Charm (20s into 11/1 on course) meant he had ridden out his three pounds claim.

The Court Cave gelding, fitted with a first-time tongue-tie, landed the Marymount Hospice Charity Raceday August 17th Handicap Hurdle by three-quarters of a length from Elusive Don (8/1), with Wolfofallstreets (12/1) in third and the 9/2 favourite Smithscorner in fourth. Luis Van Zandt was a notable withdrawal just minutes before the off and a new market was formed

The winner was successful in a bumper at Listowel last September at 40/1, and the Harvest Festival could once again be on his agenda as winning handler Ray Hackett explained:"We were very disappointed with him the last day when we put a hood on him and he completely switched off and never travelled.

"Ryan (Treacy, jockey then) thought he flipped his palate coming down the straight so we said we'd stick the tongue-tie on him and ride him up with the pace.

"Donie (McInerney) said he was falling asleep racing down the back straight and had to give him a smack but hopefully that might buck him up now.

"He needs to grow up a bit, we'll keep him on the go and we'll look to go back to Listowel for a race there in September."
