Ballydoyle vet John Halley will take satisfaction in a good day’s work today and two hours after Minding’s famous Oaks win, the ‘part-time’ trainer landed the www.tramore-racecourse.com Maiden Hurdle at Tramore today with ex-Ballydoyle inmate Hanover Street
Halley and Team Ballydoyle’s patching-up of Minding’s minor head injury, received in her recent Irish 1,000 Guineas defeat, went a long way in today’s Classic win and at Tramore, Hanover Street, a son of outstanding stallion Galileo, himself did the business when ‘getting up’ close home.
Afterwards winning jockey Ben Dalton stated “he was in Ballydoyle when I was there - he was beaten once (finished fourth in July 2015) and then John bought him.
“He is very nice and genuine and didn't really handle the track but he did well to get it.”
The Irish Grand National winning jockey added “I have one more winner left to lose my claim.”
