A 10-pound hike in the handicap proved no obstacle to Legal Lyric as she made it two wins at Limerick in six days over the extended six furlongs for trainer Willie Mullins.
The four-year-old filly, who is in foal to French Derby winner Lope De Vega, won comfortably last Saturday night by a length and a half under Seamie Heffernan off a mark of 58.
She came from last to first then and tonight was a carbon copy as Heffernan produced her in the last 100 yards to win by a length and a quarter and justify 6/5 favouritism off a new mark of 68.
“She’s improved a bit. Once you get the key to them it helps. She was a bit of value for her wins,” Seamie Heffernan said.
There was a deadheat for second between Blackthorn Stick (7/1) and Slim Chance (25/1). Silldora fell a furlong out and brought down Beat The Bell Silldora's jockey Sam James suffered a probable concussion while Fergal Lynch who was on Beat The Bell sustained a shoulder injury.
