After their doubles at Roscommon on Monday and the Curragh yesterday Ger Lyons and Colin Keane kept up the good work in the Leopardstown opener with 11/10 favourite Juncture
In this Yeomanstown Stud 'Shaman' Irish EBF Fillies Maiden Juncture built on a Naas debut second placing from 38 days back to beat Radiyka by three and a quarter lengths.
The successful daughter of Dark Angel led early, and she soon tracked the leaders, finding herself in second at halfway.
Pushed along and making headway to lead early in the straight, Juddmonte’s Juncture was ridden and was three lengths clear a furlong out, keeping on well to seal the deal.
There was promise from Seisai and Discoveries in third and fourth.
“We're very happy with that,” said Lyons’ brother Shane.
“She was green the first day as you'd expect and we gave her a two week break. She enjoyed herself and we were a little worried that she might be a little stuffy for it.
“Hopefully she'll improve again for that. That trip is ideal and she'll get a little bit further.
“That was the first box ticked, we'll see where we go now as it's going to be a long year with her.”
R.C. Colgan, rider of Gallow Hill trained by Ms. Sheila Lavery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly right throughout.
L.T. McAteer, rider of Zoe's Power trained by Barry J. Fitzgerald, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran green on the bend approaching the straight.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Dissociate trained by P. Twomey, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be slightly lame post race.
