Hogan Marathon Leader again
Successful marathon runner of 60's Jim Hogan was in winner's enclosure this evening when his horse Marathon Leader won The Listowel Castle Maiden Hurdle under John Cullen.
Winning trainer John Gleeson said afterwards, "We will probably give him one more run over hurdles. We might leave him off then and come back here over fences in September. Chasing will be his game."
Winning owner Jim Hogan is one of Ireland's greatest Marathon runners. He took the gold medal when winning 1966 marathon at The European Championships in Budapest.
Hogan stated, "This lad won his point to point at Dromahane, there were 10 races that day and he had the fastest time. I always thought he was a good horse."
