Heart displays guts at Limerick
The Dermot Weld trained Moving Heart proved the game winner of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Limerick today, providing Champion Jockey Pat Smullen with his tenth winner of the new season.
The daughter of Anabaa, previously unlucky when short-headed on the line at Cork, raced in mid-division, closed on the leaders before the straight, and although she appeared briefly held by eventual runner-up Samba School over a furlong out, she eventually hit the front inside the final furlong, scoring a two lengths win.
Weld was not present for the success, which credited the Curragh handler with his tenth seasonal win.
