The opening race of Limerick’s Christmas festival, the Holmes O'Malley Sexton 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle, was won by Mouse Morris trained Tout Est Permis under jockey Andrew Ring, who left home a 1-2 for owner Michael O’Leary’s Gigginstown House Stud.
O’Leary’s eventual runner-up Leomar had been heavily supported in to 9/10 favourite, from 2/1 on track, but eventually failed to peg back Tout Est Permis on the run-in. The winning son of Linda’s Lad had previously raced four times over hurdles and today survived a final flight mistake when scoring his neck win.
Morris was at Leopardstown but Ring, who has two winners left to lose his 5lbs claim, later stated “he loves that ground but was idle enough. He’ll improve again and he’s with the right man. I’m with Mouse two mornings a week and that’s my second winner for him.”
