Gale battles to opener success at Cork
Fair Gale beat off the persistent challenge of Totoman to land the opener at Cork on Friday night.
Barry Geraghty had sent the 13/8f to the front after three out but Totoman proved a tough customer to crack and he only got on top on the run-in
"He's a nice horse but jumped very novicey - I hoped he might jump a bit better," said trainer Eric McNamara.
"He showed a bit of class and is a lovely horse for the summer months as he loves quick ground. He's a very honest genuine horse."
