Genesis (11/2) followed in the hoof prints of half-brother Dandy Warhol in winning Dundalk's Book Online @ DundalkStadium.com Maiden today, scoring on his third run for owner/breeder Michael Foley.
Booked for Genesis today was jockey Luke McAteer, who was returning from an eight-day suspension and the pair made all, fending off 13 challengers to defeat runner-up Mark Shoelaces by two lengths.
Winning trainer Barry Fitzgerald revealed "he's a home bred and we actually won this race two years ago with his half-brother (Dandy Warhol, by Dandy Man), so it is good for Michael and Ruth (Foley) who still have the mare.
“He had two good solid runs and he (McAteer) made his mind up and said we are going forward. The horse was much more comfortable and wasn't shaking his head about today.
"He's a winner now and we will see what happens, he could go to the turf. I had only my mind set for him running well tonight."
