Pique Sous recorded another bloodless win, following up on his recent success at Bellewstown, as he took the last at Tipperary this afternoon, the Jim Ryan Racecourse Services bumper over 2m.
Trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by his son Patrick, the 5yo son of Martaline tracked the leaders early on and closed up approaching the straight when travelling strongly.
He hit the front over a furlong from home and stayed on well to score very easily by two lengths at the line at the odds of 2/7 favourite.
The John Ryan trained Reafadda had no chance with the winner and finished second under Pa King at 10/3.
Owned by the Supreme Horse Racing Club, the winner was recording his third bumper success this afternoon on his sixth career start.
The grey gelding clearly has tonnes of ability and finished a close up third in the Cheltenham bumper in March behind his stable mate Champagne Fever.
Patrick Mullins said afterwards: "He has won three bumpers now and not many horses do that.
"He has loads of gears and he could run on the flat. I’d imagine he will be hurdling before the winter.
"The plan is to do something similar to Steps To Freedom. He probably won’t run during the winter.
"He is one of the best we had out this summer."
