October's Anglesey Stakes winner A Case Of You was the star attraction at Dundalk today as the colt won on his reappearance run in the Dundalkstadium.com Race on his first run for new trainer Ado McGuinness.
The son of Hot Streak had previously won the Group 3 Anglesey Stakes for trainer John McConnell and today readily justified 10/11 favouritism to win under jockey Ronan Whelan.
Afterwards McGuinness reported “he's a nice horse, that's why we bought him (for new owner Gary Devlin), and there was a bit of pressure on.
“He'll go for a Guineas trial at Leopardstown now and has an entry in the English and the German Guineas, so he has a lot of options.
“He's entered in those big races and it's either that or Royal Ascot afterwards - that's the type of horse he is. Unfortunately we hadn't got him before the Irish Guineas closed.
“I'm not saying he's in love with the surface, and we were coming here tonight to see if he would settle. They didn't go fast but he settled beautifully.
“I think he will get the seven in the Guineas trial no problem and we'll see where we go from there.
“He moves well enough on nice ground. You don't know whether a horse will stay or not until you try him over the trip. I think he'll get the seven anyway, around Leopardstown, and then we'll make a decision what we'll do after that.”
