He is a smart horse and won three on the bounce over hurdles last year. He is rated 125 over hurdles and there were a few of them that were around the same hurdles rating. He's not totally in love with bottomless ground and the loose horse was giving him terrible trouble coming to the last but he was brilliant and ground it out. Our horses are taking a run this year and the run in Naas put him spot on. I'll see what the handicapper gives him after that and there's a novice handicap chase at Naas in March which could be a target. He is a smashing horse - you wouldn't paint him.

That was a bit eventful. He’s a bit spooky and his eye was taken by the loose horse rather than the hurdles,. Luckily he’s a big horse as he never rose a leg at the second last. He has a good engine and, if he concentrates, hopefully he’ll jump a bit better the next day than he did today. We might look at Leopardstown over Christmas for either another handicap hurdle or the opportunity handicap chase. We’ll give him three weeks off and hopefully he’ll recover. His future is probably going to be chasing and he’ll probably pay more attention to the fences than he does the hurdles.

it think that track suited him a bit better than Ballinrobe as he's so big. His future is probably going to be chasing. I think there is a similar race over two-and-a-half at Fairyhouse at the Drinmore meeting. That could be a target for him. We'll probably keep him hurdling until the handicapper gets to him. We can go chasing then, he has a mark over fences.

He’s a big horse and a chaser more than a hurdler,. Races like that (an unplaced maiden) are there to give horses an opportunity, it was an ordinary contest and we’re hoping he’ll turn out a bit better than that. He’s had a couple of runs already over fences and it’s taken time for him to get to where he is. We’ve had him since he was two, he’s six now, and he’s just grown into himself.
