There have been many famous days for Dermot Weld but a cross-country Group One double is surely as good as it gets, completed by Search For A Song in the Comer Group International Irish St. Leger. The Galileo filly was going back-to-back in the staying Curragh highlight.

She did it well and she got a good tactical ride from Oisin,. I walked the last two furlongs of the track when I came racing and, while the stands' side is obviously a shade quicker, I didn't think there was that much advantage in coming all the way across, especially when you are going to ride her very positively. The shortest way home is still up the inside and that's what he did. He gave her a good ride and the filly deserved it. She ran an excellent second in the Group 2 Blandford. I just wanted to win a stakes race with her this year. She's a stakes winning filly now and a beautifully bred filly for Moyglare. I'll speak with Eva Maria Haefner but I'd say the plan will be to keep her in training next year.

the ground has gone very testing, even for the first race, as we had plenty of rain overnight and this morning. The race fell apart and she was in front sooner than we wanted but she's very brave and honest. Oisin felt she was going away again at the line and it actually took him a while to pull her up. She'll want much better ground and hopefully will be a nice filly for next year. We'll bring her back next year now and hopefully she can continue to do the family proud.
