Dundalk Fri, 8th Nov, 2024 Tribal Moon We brought him here last week and he went well. He was trained in Dubai last year, but they ran out of racing because it ended on 26th March. They sent him over to me summer time. We couldn't get a race for him because the ground was too dry. It has worked out and I'd say he will win again. Thank God we are flying now. That two-year-old that won last week (Perfect Pacemaker) was sold to Hong Kong yesterday. |
Dundalk Fri, 1st Nov, 2024 Perfect Pacemaker He was working well but he's a big raw horse,. I said to Billy, for one of mine, he'll walk out of the boxes but in the last furlong he might just find his legs. He said to me after 'he's a nice horse Danny'. He always was a nice horse but he's so big and lanky. I'd say he'll be on the market. He's a fine looking horse. He's from the family of Look Busy and the mother won four five furlong races. The boys were saying to run him in a seven-furlong race but I was adamant to run over five. |
Dundalk Fri, 25th Oct, 2024 Ostraka Honestly, a quality filly. The Belgian chap has done a great job with her (on her back). I don't know what to say - I'm shellshocked, but I did fancy her. I did like the mare and she was working great. I believe in a lot of these sprints - and we won it last year - are all in the break. She was jumping out with the one (Eclairage) in the last race even though she is a four-year-old. Last night I sent young James the video of Dun Na Sead last year and I said that he had to do exactly the same. He did it and he didn't panic. He kept a little bit for the last 100 yards. I'm delighted for him, he is a good jockey and a nice kid too. We've had a disappointing year, but they are coming right now. The season is a bit too short!. We are off to the Horses in Training Sale next week and let's see if we can pick up a few. She is staying around for sure. She will be a nice mare next year and I could even travel with her I'd say, she likes firm ground. |
Dundalk Fri, 25th Oct, 2024 Eclairage I'm delighted for the owner (Siobhan Murphy). I really thought she could win. That's why I put McDonogh on, I saw that he was doing 8-7. I said I would either get Hollie Doyle or McDonogh. I said to Nathan Crosse if he would ride her and I told him 'out the gates and gone' - he works for Willie McCreery next door to me. He had to ride for Marnane. Kevin O'Ryan rang me and I said to put Declan McDonogh up because he is brilliant out of the gate. |
