Review navan 26th Nov
Gordon Elliott claimed the Ladbrokes Troytown Handicap Chase for the fourth year in succession as Mala Beach struck at Navan.< Bonny Kate set sail for home at the top of the straight but Davy Russell, who was stood down following a fall at Gowran Park on Saturday, was in her slipstream on the 12-1 chance.
Mala Beach took the lead after landing over the second-last and kept up the gallop to fend off Dont Tell No One by two and three-quarter lengths, with Bonny Kate third.
Hot favourite Acapella Bourgeois crashed out with over a circuit still to travel.
The Elliott-trained Samcro looked every inch the potential superstar many believe him to be with a bloodless triumph in the "Monksfield" Novice Hurdle.
The 1-4 favourite raced in fourth until moving to the front shortly after clearing the third-last and without Jack Kennedy moving a muscle, the unbeaten five-year-old sprinted 12 lengths away from Jetz < Crackerdancer got a Listed win under her belt with a resolute performance in the Coolmore N.H. Sires Irish EBF Mares Flat Race.
Sent off at 9-2 on her return to action, Ray Hackett's charge was always to the fore and stuck her neck out admirably to fend off Cordovan Brown < Red Devil Lads sprung a 28-1 surprise in the Proudstown Handicap Hurdle.
Emmet Mullins' charge appeared likely to be swallowed up by Glenloe and Mon Lino but he found plenty for David Mullins and passed the post two and a half lengths to the good.
Willie Mullins' Grade Two-winning hurdler Al Boum Photo made a successful start to his career over fences, disposing of Tycoon Prince by seven lengths in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase as the 4-5 favourite.< Ratoute Yutty won the Tattersalls Ireland Irish EBF Mares Auction Maiden Hurdle as the 7-4 joint-favourite, while Balbir Du Mathan (14-1) made a successful start for Steve Mahon in the Davis Civil Engineering Handicap Hurdle.
