Review navan 19th Feb
< Sutton Place continued on his upward curve by leading home a Gordon Elliott-trained one-two in the Ladbrokes Ireland Boyne Hurdle at Navan.
The 4-6 favourite was being niggled leaving the back, with stable companion De Plotting Shed going for home at the third-last.
Sutton Place took a while to engage top gear but kept eating into the lead and after getting his head in front on the run-in, won going away in the end by three and three-quarter lengths to extend his winning sequence to five.
Ball D'Arc capitalised on the misfortune of his two chief rivals to land the Grade Three Flyingbolt Novice Chase.
With Identity Thief withdrawn and odds-on favourite Ballyoisin falling when in front three out, Elliott's 6-4 chance was able to coast home in his own time to account for the only other finisher Tully East by 19 lengths.< Acapella Bourgeois annihilated the opposition in the Ten Up Novice Chase.
Roger Loughran was allowed to open up a massive lead on Sandra Hughes' 7-2 shot and by the time the others decided to go after him, the bird had flown, with Acapella Bourgeois strolling home 32 lengths in front of Road To Respect < Broken Soul s previous two outings over obstacles had seen him bump into Anibale Fly and Melon, so it was no surprise that he was sent off at 4-11 for the Get Your 2017 Navan Membership Maiden Hurdle.
However, having set the pace, he was slightly impeded at the third-last by a loose horse and although he tried to rally, he faded into third behind Miss Mardan (11-4), who beat King's War by four lengths.< Mad Brian (12-1) displayed signs of a revival when fourth at Punchestown recently and showed his appreciation for the switch back to timber by running away with the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle.< Miles To Memphis sprung a 25-1 surprise in the P.S. Supplies Doors & Floors Handicap Hurdle, while expensive purchase Poli Roi (2-7 favourite) completed a treble for Elliott in the Race Displays Event Signage (Pro/Am) Flat Race.
