Review navan 12th Nov
< Apple's Jade made a pleasing return to action with a victory in the Lismullen Hurdle at Navan.
The Cheltenham Festival winner was returning from 197 days off the track and justified 8-15 favouritism to land the Grade Two contest in good style.< Jer's Girl looked a danger from three out but the class of Apple's Jade kicked in from the last to record a winning margin of two lengths.
That was part of a four-timer for Gordon Elliott and owners Gigginstown House Stud which started when Mengli Khan saw off Stratum to complete course-and-distance a double in the For Auction Novice Hurdle.
The two market leaders led them into the home straight in the Grade Three contest but Elliottt's charge always looked to be going best and won a shade cosily by four lengths.
Jack Kennedy completed a big-race treble when Clarcam showed all of his battling qualities to take the Fortria Chase.
Held up in the early stages, the seven-year-old dug deep to beat long-time leader Alisier D'Irlande by half a length and claim the Grade Two prize at 7-2.
Elliott teamed up with Lisa O'Neill to win the concluding Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (Pro/Am) Flat Race with Invincible Cave who came home three and three-quarters of a length clear of fellow Gigginstown representative Valdieu < Footpad produced a fine round of jumping as he made an impressive debut over fences in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase.
Willie Mullins' five-year-old mixed at the highest level over hurdles and showed his class for a facile 11-length triumph over Brelade at odds of 4-6.< Icantsay ran out an easy winner of the Meath Farm Machinery Handicap Hurdle thanks to an enterprising ride from Danny Mullins.
John Ryan's 9-2 chance opened up a big lead early doors and never looked like coming back to the field as he crossed the line 10 lengths clear of Aa Bee See < Oscars Den (4-1) finished with a wet sail under Katie Walsh to score by a length and three-quarters from Lex Talionis in the St Johann Ski Resort Tirol Austria Handicap Hurdle.
