Review naas 26th Jul
< Only Mine was in a class of her own as she landed a third Listed prize to add to the Group Three on her CV in the Yeomanstown Stud Dark Angel EBF Stakes at Naas.
Joe Murphy's filly had to concede weight all round but Gary Carroll was positive on the 9-4 favourite, racing in second before going for home just after halfway.
Her acceleration carried her into a clear lead and she never looked like being caught, with Carroll easing her down in the final strides, yet still accounted for Music Box and Rehana by a length and a head.
Jessica Harrington turned Saturday's Gowran third Pincheck out again for the Michael Higgins & Co. Handicap and he dug deep to justify 2-1 favouritism.
It took a while for him to master the front-running Tribal Path but he is clearly thriving on his racing and gained the spoils by a length and a quarter.
Having cut out much of the running in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden, the Harrington-trained Brick By Brick looked like breaking his duck at the fourth attempt.
However, he hadn't counted on the Andy Slattery-trained debutant Emadee (12-1) coming with a wet sail in the closing stages and she pipped Brick By Brick on the line.< Flower Of May (14-1) left an ordinary introduction a long way behind to come out on top in the Hospitality At Naas Racecourse Maiden.
Market leader Conversely was always to the fore and swept to the front before the two-furlong pole but there were no excuses as Flower Of May, who was only seventh at the Curragh last month, swept by with half a furlong to travel and crossed the line a length and a quarter to the good over Voge < Mo Henry (12-1) bounced back from Sunday's Fairyhouse defeat to take the Follow Naas Racecourse On Facebook Handicap, while Carrigeen Prince (8-1) battled well to claim the www.naasracecourse.com Apprentice Handicap.
The Follow Naas Racecourse On Facebook Race rounded out the card and it provided Psychedelic Funk with a welcome boost of confidence.
