Review dundalk 30th Oct
Aidan O'Brien's Dynasty showed a smart turn of foot to open his account at the fourth attempt in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden at Dundalk.
The juvenile was sent off at 1-2 having finished down the field in Newmarket's Tattersalls Timeform Million last time and made the most of this drop in class to score by two and a half lengths.
Travelling head lad Pat Keating said: "He's done it well and we're happy enough. Hopefully he'll go on from this."
Murtagh went on to complete a double as he produced Russian View to get up right on the line in the The "3 For Free" - Wednesday Nights In November At Dundalk Stadium Handicap.
Tom McCourt's Copper Dock gained his third course victory with a battling display in the Crowne Plaza Race & Stay Package Handicap
The five-year-old was sent off at 8-1 having failed to find the winner's enclosure since last July but was certainly in the winning mood as he dug deep into his reserves to hold off Mountain Coral by a short-head.
"He was due it this year and he loves it here," said McCourt.
"He needs things to go his way but he stuck it out well and there is a similar handicap for him on Wednesday week."
Gary Carroll further enhanced his growing reputation as he guided Mick Halford's 8-1 chance Smartest to victory in the Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Maiden.
Halford said: "It was a great ride - brilliant. No doubt about that.
"It was top class and his 5lb claim probably made the difference in the end.
"She deserved that and I don't think we'll see her again now. There isn't much else for her and it's just nice to get a maiden with her."
Fran Berry has been banging in the winners at the track of late and added to his tally with Jessica Harrington's Maybe Grace (12-1) in the www.loutholidays.com Handicap.
