< Bashir Biyoum Zain is set for a step up in class after completing a course double in the www.dundalkstadium.com Handicap at the all-weather venue.
The three-year-old struck over seven furlongs at the track last month and he was sent off the 5-2 favourite under Willie Supple to follow up.
Bashir Biyoum Zain made easy work of it, taking over inside the final furlong to coast home by three-quarters of a length from Rock Pipit
"He did it well and he's a nice horse. The mile was a little bit of a concern but he saw it out well," said trainer Paul Deegan.
"We'll step him up to pattern company and hopefully he's up to it. He has a touch of class about him."< Jolly Snake (9-4) dug deep for Fran Berry to take the opening Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Median Auction Maiden by a neck from Clondinnery
"He stuck at it well and was going away again at the line. It was a good tough performance and he franked the form of the race last time," said Berry.
The rider was also on the mark aboard the Jessica Harrington-trained Alamanda (7-2) in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden.< Hepburn justified market support in the Hen & Stag Packages At Dundalk Stadium Handicap.
Backed in from 20-1 to 14s, Jim Gorman's charge triumphed in the hands of Chris Hayes.
"She's a nice filly and we've just been waiting on good ground. She should improve again as Chris says she blew up at the furlong pole," said the trainer.< Force Of Habit got the best of a three-way finish under Pat Smullen in the George Farrelly & John Byrne Memorial Handicap.
The Dermot Weld-trained 7-2 favourite just prevailed by a short head from Murtagh with Chaparro the same distance back in third.
Smullen then struck aboard Night Spark (7-1) in the [email protected] Handicap, cruising up a furlong out to win with ease.
