Review bellewstown 2nd Jul
< Original Option relished the return to the smaller obstacles after a poor start to his fencing career as he took the feature Seamus Mulvaney Crockafotha Handicap Hurdle at Bellewstown.
Pulled up on his chasing debut at Down Royal last month, the Noel Meade-trained six-year-old (16-1) travelled well here and joined the lead at the third-last flight.
He came away from the opposition in style under Paul Carberry and though he jumped left down the straight, he had enough in the tank to beat Ballintemple Star by five lengths.
Meade and Carberry were completing a double after dual Flat winner London Bridge (7-1) opened his account over jumps in the jogforjockeys.ie Maiden Hurdle.
The five-year-old led two out and having dismissed the threat of Native Palm held the late rush of the favourite Undertheboardwalk by a length.< High Importance seemed to enjoy the return to quick ground over obstacles after a poor run on the level when landing the Indaver Ireland Novice Hurdle.
Tony Martin's four-year-old (10-1) joined Shake The Bucket in front jumping the last flight and forged ahead in the hands of Ruby Walsh to win by a length.
Tom Doyle set off in front on Bingo Lady in the Sam Dennigan & Co Maiden Hurdle and Kieran Purcell's mare (12-1) had them at full stretch with three to jump before staying on well to score by 10 lengths.
John Cahill's Promise Maker (6-1) followed up last month's victory at Tramore by staying on stoutly for Eddie O'Connell to hold Aon Sceal by a length and a quarter in the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle.
Another to record back-to-back victories was Pat Martin's Nivek's Dream (7-1), a winner at Downpatrick in May, who led two out in the hands of Andrew Thornton and was largely untroubled in taking the O'Neills Sports Club Challenge Handicap Hurdle by two lengths.
