Review ballinrobe 29th May
Rachael Blackmore was in double-winning form at Ballinrobe, culminating in Ronava s emphatic success in the Killeen Sports Grounds Handicap Hurdle.
Owned, trained and bred by Richard Cotter, the 10-1 chance was always going well at the head of affairs and pulled away after the final flight, easily beating Newsworthy into second.
Blackmore's first victory came in the Monroe's Live Mares Handicap Hurdle, as Is She Diesel skipped clear in the closing stages.
Seamus Fahey's 5-1 chance shot past the pacesetting Chambord Du Lys at the last and kept going strongly, coming home six lengths to the good.< Dandy Mag proved a class apart in galloping his rivals into submission in the Sheridan Electric Hurdle.
Willie Mullins' charge was sent off the 2-5 favourite and was sent straight to the front by Ruby Walsh.
The four-year-old, a half-brother to Vroum Vroum Mag, was still travelling strongly at the last and even a slightly sketchy jump did not stop his progress, as he skipped five lengths clear of Zig Zag
Walsh bagged a double of his own when guiding Pat Collins' Hellow Sweetie (11-4 favourite) to victory in the Mulholland Bookmakers Handicap Chase, while Mullins also secured a brace of wins when son Patrick guided 9-10 favourite Sapphire Lady to victory in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Flat Race.
Favourite backers got off to a good start when Product Of Love obliged in the opening F.B.D. Maiden Hurdle.
Sent off the even-money favourite after a pleasing reappearance last month, Alan Fleming's charge was always travelling nicely for Denis O'Regan, who positioned him just behind the early leaders.
Striking for home before the second last, he ran on strongly to keep Knockmaole Boy three and a half lengths at bay.
What's The Plot (7-2) produced a strong late run to land the Audi Ballina Handicap Hurdle for Arthur Moore and Donagh Meyler.
