Rachael Blackmore was seen to good effect on The Black Russian to secure top honours in the John Mulhern Handicap Hurdle at Ballinrobe.

The 7-1 chance was bounced out in front by Blackmore, who was able to dictate terms to suit herself.

The pack closed in on the long run to the final flight but Blackmore had kept something up her sleeve, and The Black Russian bounded away again to cross the line with seven lengths in hand of Runyon Rattler

Grade Three-winning hurdler Listen Dear stamped her class on the Connacht Tribune Beginners Chase.

Jumping proficiently in the main on her first crack at fences, Willie Mullins' 5-6 favourite led her rivals a merry dance and disposed of Lucky Pat by 20 lengths with the minimum of fuss.< Lord Justice was a costly failure at Listowel's Harvest Festival but made amends in the Sponsors Day At Ballinrobe 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle.

Once again the money came for Joseph O'Brien's juvenile but those who took the 6-4 were made to sweat when he was challenged by stablemate Zig Zag and there was only a short head in it at the line.< Freedom Statue left her previous form behind to run out a clear-cut winner of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Maiden Hurdle.

Paul Townend made his move on the 10-1 shot between the final couple of obstacles and his mount stretched 12 lengths clear of one-paced favourite Inchiquin High < Another Rebel played up before the J.B. Staunton Memorial Chase and was withdrawn but the race still provided a thrilling finish, with the game Bashful Beauty (100-30) denying Eight Till Late by half a length.< Tornado Watch (11-8 favourite) supplemented his Downpatrick success in the Tuam Herald Handicap Hurdle, while 7-2 joint-favourite Father Jed backed up his Galway triumph in the Brendan McNulty Memorial Handicap Hurdle and Moss Grove (20-1) took the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Chase.
