With cheek-pieces swapped for blinkers odds-on chance Zozimus (4/5) delivered in the second division of the DundalkStadium.com Median Auction Maiden.
Having started off back in July the successful son of Footstepsinthesand was duly rewarded for some consistent efforts, finally putting a ‘1’ on the board at the eighth time of asking.
Champion apprentice Gavin Ryan did the steering for owner Justin Carthy and trainer Donnacha O’Brien.
Donnacha’s brother Joseph supplied the second, Shackleton Hero four lengths off Zozimus.
“He's been running consistently without heading his head in front and I think that will do his confidence the world of good,” said Ryan.
“I was delighted with him today. Now that he's got his head in front he might go on from here.”
