Workahead produced a fine front-running performance to land the Thorntons Recycling Maiden Hurdle at Leopardstown.
Mike O'Connor was positive on the Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding in the two-miler and the son of Workforce had his rivals on the stretch turning for home.
The 13/2 shot galloped on strongly on the run-in to beat William Munny by seven lengths.
Workahead, a point-to-point winner back in January 2023, had been third on his track debut at Navan earlier this month.
“That was great, a nice little Christmas present,” said O'Connor.
“We were hoping that he'd improve off the last day and he did, he put his best foot forward today.
“We'll enjoy today and leave plans up to the connections.
“The ground is lovely and safe, they've done a fabulous job on it.”
