Winning debut from Stack filly at Gowran
Ashtaroth (far side) beats Stirabout (centre) and Mansuri

The Tommy Stack trained Ashtaroth (7/1) made a promising start to her career when winning the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden on debut at Gowran today, under Wayne Lordan.
Lordan was racing behind the leaders and at work pushing along the daughter of Royal Applause with over a furlong to race. However once leader Stirabout came off the running rail inside the final furlong, it allowed space for Lordan to quicken and eventually stay on to record a neck and a neck win over Mansuri and Stirabout.
Stack was represented by his son Fozzy Stack who later said “she's a weak filly and took a bit of time to come to hand. She's out of a sister to Ashkalani and she'll probably get a bit further.”
