The King quickened up in impressive fashion to take the colts and geldings maiden at Gowran Park for Jessica Harrington.

Shane Foley settled in behind the leaders on the 7/2 and he was asked for an effort passing the two furlong pole.

The son of Mastercraftsman found another gear in the closing stages of the final furlong to claim Imaging and record a three-and-a-half length success.

The winner had been fifth on his debut at the Curragh last month behind Mendelssohn. He attracted support from 9/1 this morning.

“He was very good. He was very green and Shane said he got himself into a place he didn't want to be because they'd gone very steady and he thought 'oh god they are going to sprint now' but he was good when he pulled him out,” said Harrington.

“He really quickened up well, he quickened up like a good horse. He's going to be a nice staying horse.

“I don't know where he'll go, we'll wait and see. He did that really well.

“We've always thought he was nice and he is in the Irish Guineas and the Derby. He's got a few good entries. We've been waiting all year for him. He's won now and we'll wait and see.”
