Wayne gets Whatever home
Wayne Lordan was seen at his strongest as Whatever It Takes claimed the Roscommon Handicap.
The Tommy Stack-trained gelding claimed front-runner Unique Style at the furlong pole in the mile-and-a-half event.
The JP McManus-owned runner had to pull out all the stops, however, as the pacemaker kept on inside the final furlong and pushed him to within a head.
"He's a tough hardy boy and stays well," said Stack afterwards. "He's entered again later in the week but we'll have to see how he comes out of this."
