Water Side lands opener at Roscommon
The opening race this evening at Roscommon, the Boyle Handicap was won by the Michael Flannery trained Water Side at odds of 16/1 in the hands of Colm O’Donoghue.
“We were along time waiting for him to win again, he’s a very hard horse to train and his syndicate gave up on him but I knew there was another day in him. Things just didn’t go right for him.”
“He loves this ground and he got the breaks and Colm gave him a great ride. He had only one run this season and he badly needed the run. It’s just great to win with him, he’s a ten year old”, said a delighted Flannery.
