Following on from Rosey’s Hollow’s Fairyhouse success in the middle of the month, County Cork trainer Jonathan Sweeney was on the mark again today, in split two of the Thurles (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race with Churchstonewarrior (evens, from 6/4).
A fifth winning market-leader of the session, the Ray Barron-ridden victor asserted his superiority from two furlongs out to account for Captain Westie by sixteen lengths.
There was thirty three lengths back to Ballywilliam Boy in third.
"I'm very happy with that and he did it well,” commented Sweeney.
"The plan was to stay over hurdles but this came up at a suitable trip so we said we'd come here."
