Veteran Lass gives Homer welcome win
Bookmakers got another favourable result in the Exit 6 To The Horse & Jockey Handicap Hurdle when Quarryfield Lass (25/1) took the two and three quarter miler for trainer Homer Scott and rider Conor Maxwell.
Scott was enjoying his first success since John James won at Roscommon in early September 2007.
This veteran mare proved a length and a quarter too good for Culmullen Hall
Scott quipped afterwards: "She deserved that. She is nearly as old as myself!"
Quarryfield Lass won a bumper back in January 2004 for Pat Verling. She was then sold to race in the colours of Robert Sinclair. Unfortunately she then missed the best part of four years and this was just her second career win.
