Venice Biennale (10s into 15/2 on the show) completed a double for John Murphy in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Fillies Maiden.

Patiently handled by Oisin Orr, the daughter of Farhh came through with her challenge on the stands’ side in the straight and struck the front at the furlong marker. She ran on well to account for White Pepper (6/1) by a comfortable four and a quarter lengths.

The winner had made her debut at The Curragh just a week previously where she finished fourth over this distance of ten furlongs.

George Murphy, assistant to his father, said: “She was a little bit green in the Curragh the last day. She's a filly we've always really liked.

“She's a big lady and took a little bit of time to come to hand. We'll probably look for a black-type race for her now, she's a nice one to go forward with.”
