Udogo has proved a good money spinner for connections, and recorded his fourth win in the last 12 months when recording a really gutsy victory in the Boomtown Rats Apprentice Handicap at Leopardstown.
Trained by Joseph O’Brien and given a fine ride by his younger sister Ana, the 8/1 chance gamely held off the well-backed 9/4 favourite Windsor Beach by half a length.
Jaqen H’Ghar, a stable-companion of the winner was just another half a length away in third.
Bob Geldof and fellow members of the Boomtown Rats, who were playing a concert after racing, were on hand to greet the winner.
Joseph O’Brien said, "He's a tough little horse and wears his heart on his sleeve. I thought the handicapper had a hold of him but he's got a big heart and Ana gave him a great ride.
"He jumps well and will go hurdling."
