Commeragh Trix was usurped for favouritism by Aidan O'Brien's newcomer Delayed Eloquence (5/2 into 7/4, from bigger earlier, finished a tailed off 8th) but it was the former that earned a hard fought success under Nina Carberry for in-form Charles Byrnes.
Peace N'Milan (16s into 11s) looked like she'd gain the day when striking for home from two furlongs out. Commeragh Trix is a tough mare though and she kept finding for Nina Carberry.
Closing in the final furlong the victorious Mountain High four-year-old got there close home for a three parts of a length win.
"She was a cheap mare who only cost €3,000, and she got the €5,000 bonus today. She will go hurdling now and probably needs two and a half miles," revealed Byrnes.
"The ground suited her, and she can win plenty of races."
Of course Commeragh Trix was here building on the promising beginning she made when a head runner-up to Champagne Harmony at Cork in mid-November.
