Tin Town Boy gives Slippers a double
First reserve Tin Town Boy from the Harry Rogers yard, made the journey from Ardee in Co Louth to Sligo pay off when taking the two mile handicap hurdle under Slippers Madden at odds of 20/1.
Trainer Rogers was quick to praise his jockey. He said: "Slippers was very good on him. The ground was probably too soft for him but he held on to him.
"He's a nice horse and he's been a good old servant.
"It is nice for the owner Leo McCormack from Athboy in Co Meath. It is his first winner.
"He'll go back on the flat if he gets an ease in the ground." Kaprun was two-and-a-half lengths back in second while Double Seven finished third. Golan Guy representing Tony Martin and Ruby Walsh was sent off the 5/2 favourite but he unseated Walsh after making a bad mistake two out when racing in behind the leaders.
